Mrs Day and Mrs Duffy Year 3 2022-2023
Welcome to the Year 3 class page. The Class Teacher is Mrs Day and the Teaching Assistant is Mrs Duffy.
** Please remember to bring in a piece of fruit to eat during morning break and a water bottle to keep in class.**
P.E
P.E days to be confirmed when we return to school next week. Please ensure that your child comes to school wearing the correct P.E kit at all times. Please encourage your child to bring in a pair of tracksuit bottoms to wear outside during their P.E sessions during the winter months.
Homework
We will be setting homework on the Seesaw app so routines are the same as in year 2. I will post the homework on a Friday for both Maths and English. This will be posted back on Seesaw no later than the following Thursday. There will be work set on www.ttrockstars.com to encourage your child to learn their times tables.
Reading books/tasks
Reading books will be sent out on Wednesday. These are to be returned on Monday with your Reading Journal signed. I will also be setting short reading comprehension tasks via the Seesaw app and I will also post ebooks for children to enjoy the love of reading.
Spelling/Multiplication quiz
During Year 3 children will be given weekly spelling tests and multiplication quizzes (all spellings will be taught in school and posted on the Seesaw app). Please encourage your child to learn their spellings and tables each week.

The Concrete Pictorial Abstract (CPA) approach is a system of learning that uses physical and visual aids to build a child’s understanding of abstract topics. Pupils are introduced to a new mathematical concept through the use of concrete resources (e.g. fruit, Dienes blocks etc).
